Brief & Objectives

Scorebet approached Ruby Digital for SEO and Organic Social Media services in order to expand online. From SEO, Scorebet wanted to increase its brand awareness by increasing organic traffic and beginning to gain new users to visit the website, and later down the line, increase sign-ups.

From the Organic Social Media side of things, Scorebet wanted to improve its social presence and reach on Facebook and Instagram.

Challenges

The challenge was that when Scorebet approached Ruby Digital, they were seeing no website traffic from any channel. They were not ranking for any keywords and Google had not indexed their website pages due to a lack of html content with important keywords.

For Social Media, the challenge was that Scorebet had little to no organic growth or presence on their social media platforms. With very few people aware of their social media accounts.

Our Solution

  • We started with our 6-month SEO strategy on October 1st, 2021.
  • SEO keyword research was fundamental in our approach as the betting market is highly competitive and Scorebet was not being indexed as there was little to no html content on their site.
  • We continued with content optimisations for specific branded keywords and non-branded keywords such as: “online football betting in South Africa”.
  • We identified important keywords and referring domains that competitors are ranking for or have pointing towards their website and created a strategy to improve upon Scorebet’s backlink portfolio.
  • Our 6-month social media strategy was implemented on September 1st, 2021.
  • We achieved Scorebet’s aim to improve brand awareness by growing their following and creating awareness for their social media platforms through improving their Facebook reach and Instagram impressions to potential consumers.
  • Posts and platforms were optimised and targeted for increasing reach and growing awareness by creating value-adding posts to increase shares and thereby further increase reach.

Results

Comparing the first full 6 months (Oct 2021-Mar 2022) after implementing our SEO strategy to the latest 6 months (Apr 2022-Sep 2022) we have seen great improvements. Organic traffic has increased by 31.64%. We have seen a 69.04% increase in organic conversions.

From Social Media, comparing the first 3 months ( Sep 2021 – Nov 2021) to the latest 3 months (Dec 2021 – Feb 2022). More and more users are becoming familiar with Scorebet’s brand on social channels and are interested in our relevant posts. Scorebet saw a 48.86% increase in new followers on Facebook and reached 83.81% more people. From Instagram, we reached 48.29% more users through impressions.
